November 25th Note From the BoLA Tournament

Just a little note from the PWG BoLA tournament:

Prior to the show, word gets out that Chris Sabin is out of the tournament. According to Alex Shelley later in the night, Sabin’s streak of bad luck finally resulted in his pulling out from having gotten a concussion six weeks ago, swine flu four weeks ago, and recently a nerve pinch in his neck. Ouch. Sabin’s spot is replaced by local talent Johnny Goodtime.

November 20th Sabin Out of PWG BoLA/Injury Update

thanks to Hannah for this:

Earlier today we received word of two cancellations for the 2009 Battle of Los Angeles. First, Charles Mercury will not be able to compete in his recently announced non-tournament bout due to a personal matter. Second, we were notified by TNA Management that Chris Sabin has been injured, and will be unable to compete in the 2009 Battle of Los Angeles. TNA Management stated that Sabin “aggravated a neck injury at our TV tapings and the doctor is recommending that he take a couple of weeks (and maybe longer) off. He had first suffered the injury at our previous tapings and tweaked it at the tapings this week.” We at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla wish Chris Sabin a speedy and full recovery.

November 18th PWI 500 Entry

Chris Sabin placed 52nd on the 2009 PWI 500. Thanks to  Jason from JerichoPage.cjb.net for typing it up for me :)

52 – Chris Sabin – (5’10″, 205, 9, 69)
Rapidly becoming the silent partner in The Motor City Machine Guns as Alex Shelley morphs into the second coming of Chris Jericho … That said, there’s no disputing the Machine Guns’ success and diehard cult following … Shows more respect for the fans than his fellow wrestlers … Sabin and Shelley quickly lost interest in being members of the Frontline, the hastily formed faction intended to resist the Main Event Mafia … They defeated No Limit for the IWGP International junior heavyweight tag team title on January 4 at New Japan’s Tokyo Dome show … Lost to Shelley in a tournament final to determine the new TNA X division champion at Genesis … He and Shelley became obsessed with figuring out the identity of Suicide … Why didn’t they try Wikipedia? … TNA’s best practitioner of the Cradle Shock, a cross-legged Samoan driver … Seems to genuinely have fun in the ring.
